The 1/10 oz. 2016 Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin carries the same Winged Liberty design as the original silver Mercury Dime introduced in 1916. The Mercury Dime design, also called the Winged Liberty, together with the Walking Liberty Half-Dollar, are considered the two state-of-the-art works of the famous German-American sculptor Adolph Alexander Weinman,

On the obverse side of this outstanding coin is depicted the Lady Liberty wearing a Phrygian cap surrounded by the inscriptions “Liberty”, “In God We Trust”, “2016” and the “AW” initials. The winged cap is the reason why the coin got its nickname because it was confused with the Roman messenger god, Mercury. The reverse side of the coin is a representation of the Roman fasces, symbolizing the readiness and unity of the American military power, and an olive branch – the symbol of peace. The inscriptions “E Pluribus Unum”, “Au 24K”, “1/10 oz.”, “United States of America”, “One Dime” and the letter “W”, which stands for New York West Point facility of the US Mint, complete the impressive design of the 2016 Gold Mercury Dime Centennial Coin.

This remarkable commemorative coin is already available on Bullion Exchanges in both mint edition and certified versions: the PCGS SP 70 2016 1/10 oz. Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin, the NGC SP 70 ER 2016 1/10 oz. Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin and the NGC SP 70 ER  2016 1/10 oz. Mercury Dime Centennial Gold Coin.
